James Reid, Issa Pressman react to his accidental twinning moment with Nadine Lustre

James Reid: “I was like, ‘Did I take a photo with [Nadine] like that?’”

James Reid reveals it was Issa Pressman who informed him that his OOTD going viral for matching with ex-girlfriend Nadine Lustre. Seeing the photoshopped photos online, James said, “Yeah, when I saw the pictures… it’s funny, it’s funny… The photoshop was so good. I was like, ‘Did I take a photo with her like that?’”

Former couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre made headlines when they were spotted unintentionally coordinating their outfits at a recent event.

James and Nadine, along with Liza Soberano and Anne Curtis-Smith, were all chosen as local ambassadors for Gucci.

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, all four of them attended the grand reopening of Gucci’s newly renovated boutique in Greenbelt 4, Makati City, and they wore complete ensembles from the Italian luxury brand.

On Friday, September 8, 2023, James talked about the incident in an interview with members of the press on the black carpet of #PreviewBall2023, held at the grand ballroom of Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.

He was accompanied by his girlfriend Issa Pressman.

Among the entertainment reporters who caught up with James and Issa were MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News and PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

It was MJ who, with utmost respect, sought the couple’s permission before asking James about twinning with Nadine.

James revealed that it was Issa who informed him about his and Nadine’s OOTDs gaining attention on social media.

In his words, James said, “Yes, I saw that! Actually, Issa’s the one that showed it to me She was like, ‘Oh my god, your outfits are matching.’”

The Careless PH founder then clarified that Gucci’s international team had curated the celebrity ambassadors’ outfits for the event.

“But yeah, [the] clothes, they were picked out by the international Gucci team. And it just turns out that, you know, the outfits matched and we looked great,” he nonchalantly remarked.

James continued, “But yeah, I just had a lot of fun at the Gucci event I had a lot of fun with Issa, with Liza, and the rest of the Careless team…

“And it was great to see her [Nadine], and yeah, it was a great night.”

ISSA’S REACTION

As for Issa, she pointed out that James was oblivious to his accidental twinning with Nadine.

Smiling, Issa remarked, “Actually, he didn’t notice!”

James confirmed, “No, no, I didn’t think about it…”

Issa added, “I also didn’t notice! I only saw in the actual picture.”

In the actual group photo, James was standing beside Liza, Liza was next to Anne, then next to Anne was Nadine.

Some netizens, however, took the liberty of editing the group photo and depicted James and Nadine in a way as if they were standing next to each other.

Reacting to the edited photo of him and Nadine, James added, “Yeah, when I saw the pictures… it’s funny, it’s funny.

“The photoshop was so good I was like, ‘Did I take a photo with her like that?’”

Nevertheless, James and Issa were clearly cool about it.

Above all, Issa expressed her joy that both James and Nadine made a significant impact as Gucci’s ambassadors.

Issa elaborated, “Wala lang… yeah, I mean, clothes are clothes, right? They’re both, like, Gucci ambassadors and they both repped it well.

“So, we’re, like, good job to the Philippines for repping Gucci so well.”

ON GOOD TERMS WITH NADINE LUSTRE

Many JaDine fans were elated to see the former couple reunited at an event.

What added to the excitement of fans was the friendly interaction and “beso-beso” moment between James and Nadine.

Back at the interview at the Preview Ball, MJ noted how James and Nadine seemed to be on good terms with each other long after they went on their separate ways.

“Yes, ever since before, yeah…” James readily affirmed before concluding the interview, “So Gucci! So Gucci!”

It was no secret that James and Nadine’s breakup made headlines in January 2020.

Both James and Nadine have since moved on and are in happy relationships with their respective partners to date.
