Mon Confiado shared his reaction to Jericho Rosales being chosen to portray Manuel Quezon

Kapamilya A-list actor Jericho Rosales replaced actor TJ Trinidad in the Manuel Quezon biopic.

Jericho has proven his acting caliber in projects he does throughout his career in the entertainment industry which gave him acting recognitions.

Just recently, TBA Studios announced that Jericho will portray Manuel Quezon for its “bayaniverse,” directed by Jerrold Tarog. The first one was Heneral Luna portrayed by John Archilla and followed by Paulo Avelino’s Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.

The three movies are threaded together by Hen. Emilio Aguinaldo, portrayed by Mon Confiado. In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Mon shared his thoughts on Jericho replacing TJ.

He said that TJ is now semi-retired in his acting career and more focused now on corporate world. “Napakayaman na ni TJ kaya hindi na nag-aartista. So, si Jericho Rosales ang tingin kong pinaka-perfect na gaganap ng Quezon dito sa trilogy ng bayaniverse,” Mon said.

He also shared what he observed during their table-reading. “Ang galing niya (Jericho)! Reading pa lang, nakikita ko na si Quezon!” he said.

Mon Confiado also said that Jericho Rosales delivered his lines with a superb accent and they clapped for the A-list actor during their table-reading. “Kinikilabutan kaming lahat!” Mon shared.

Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Jericho talked about being chosen to portray Manuel Quezon. He said that he felt honored to be on this team. Jericho also shared that when he read the script, he could say that it was potent and entertaining. The A-list actor said that he is happy and feels so lucky to be in this project.

Jericho intends to show to the present generation who Manuel Quezon was as a person and not as a well-known hero and historical figure.
