Rene Requiestas’ Grave in a Poor State, Julius Babao Shares

Journalist and TV host Julius Babao was shocked to find the grave of the late comedian Rene Requiestas in a poor state.

In his latest vlog with Cristine Bersola, the journalist shared his shock upon seeing the final resting place of the 90s comedy icon in a heartbreaking condition.

Requiestas, known for his exceptional comedic talent and memorable partnership with Kris Aquino in “Pido Dida,” was originally laid to rest at Manila Memorial Park. However, his remains were later transferred to another cemetery to be with his late family members.

A relative of the comedian, who accompanied Babao during the visit, explained that the move was necessary as their family found it difficult to visit the previous location.

“Nilipat ko, dati nasa Manila Memorial, tapos nilipat ko siya dito kasi nandito lahat ng kapatid ko na namatay. Nahihiwalay eh,” the relative said.

During the visit, there was initial confusion as the relative mistakenly pointed to the wrong grave. When they finally found the right spot, Babao was dismayed to see that Requiestas’ remains were only placed inside a plastic covering.

“Dito ho, dito sa plastic na to mga buto ni Rene Requiestas,” Julius said.

He also noticed that the grave lacked proper cement or any form of cover. The relative mentioned that they were still in the process of arranging everything.

Babao and Bersola expressed their sadness after learning about the situation. The two expressed that Requiestas, having brought laughter to so many people, deserved a proper burial. Despite his fame and contributions to the entertainment industry, his final resting place remains in a neglected state.

“Nakakalungkot po, ano,” he added.
