Here’s what Ogie Diaz said about the viral performance of Mark Herras in a bar.

Kapuso actor Mark Herras previously created a loud buzz following his performance in a bar surfaced online.

There is a certain discrimination or bias in terms of men performing in a gay bar. While these spaces are meant to be inclusive and accepting, there are inevitable overt and subtle judgments. There are prejudices around masculinity and recently, many people online were abuzz after seeing a video of celebrity Mark Herras performing in a gay bar.

It was in the Apollo male entertainment bar located at 717-B Roxas Boulevard, Parañaque City. He did two shows and did not strip. He also has no production number with macho dancers of the bar and there was a segment where he danced in front of a female who was sitting in a chair. This was just quick.

It was also confirmed that he will have a show again in Apollo on January 31.

In a new video from Ogie Diaz, the actor spoke about the matter. According to Diaz, his appearance in the club was merely just for performing. As stated, he did not strip and did not “table” anyone. There were some who made attempts to have him but he refused. He did two performances and that was it.

After his dance number, he left the club.

Diaz cited that there were people who saw his video and called it cheap but for Diaz, in his perspective, he just did what he needed to do as a provider.

Ogie said based on the video, “Ang paniniwala ko, kesa ngumanga yung pamilya, siya naman ang inaasahan.”

He is also a dancer. Just like what Diaz did before since he was good at making people laugh, he did stand-up comedy to provide for his family.

In a previous article, Mark admitted that he was not happy with his career. He had decisions made in the past that led to this state in his career but despite this, he remained grateful to GMA for still giving him opportunities.

Mark got married to Nicole Donesa in 2021 and they now have a child.
