Nadine Lustre is no stranger to interviews. In fact, through the years, she’s shown just how more mindful she’s become with her statements. Probably part of why she’s earned the moniker President Nadine.
In a recent guesting on One Balita Pilipinas, the actress was asked to react to the breakups of famous love teams such as KathNiel.
“What was your reaction nung narinig mo ‘to?” asked broadcaster Cheryl Cosim. “Kasi lahat affected. Anong naging reaction mo rin na 11 years, they were together for 11 years, as a friend, I suppose? Kasi kayo yung mga nakikita na LizQuen, kayo ni James Reid, tapos sila KathNiel.”
Nadine replied, “I can’t really say so much about it because I’m not super close to them, so I don’t think I’m able to comment [on] anything. Pero tagal din nung 11 years.”
Such a class act! You have to give it to Nadine for giving such a courteous answer.
Co-host MJ Marfori went on to talk about how it seems love team arrangements these days are more professionalized and how the actors are not forced to date each other, something which Nadine could relate to.
“I think that’s how it should be, but I understand din naman why sometimes the management would kind of force it,” Nadine noted.
“But I’m happy because now, the showbiz industry is changing, you know,” she added. “It’s not the same as before na ‘pag love team kayo, dapat kayo. Ngayon, everyone is more understanding, everyone is more professional and I think it should be like that.”
While Nadine found it understandable that some fans were angered or saddened when she started dating her now BF Christophe Bariou, she’s grateful that there were also fans who were supportive of her.
It was in January 2020 when Nadine and James announced their breakup after four years, while Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil have been rumored to have broken up, something that both parties have yet to confirm. Meanwhile, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla confirmed on November 30, 2023, that they had parted ways after 11 years.
