NADINE LUSTRE – Filipina actress-singer Nadine Lustre shared the story behind her viral photo buying Mang Tomas in Siargao.



Back in August 2021, a photo of singer-actress Nadine Lustre buying a Lechon sauce ‘Mang Tomas’ at a store in Siargao went viral. Her attire even became a popular Halloween costume in October.

Nadine’s photo trended mainly because of her natural beauty as she was photographed wearing no makeup and showing her toned body while wearing a bikini top. It went viral again in November when a photo of her former boyfriend James Reid with a roasted pig resulted witty memes.

In an interview for We Rise Together, Nadine Lustre said that she was actually aware that someone took a photo of her in the store but she didn’t mind it as she was already very hungry.

“Actually, alam ko na kinukunan ako ng picture pero kasi ‘yung time na ‘yun, sobrang gutom na ‘ko, sobrang pagod, nag-surf kami. Tapos bumiyahe pa kami. So, alam mo ‘yung gutom na gutom ka, tapos gusto mong kumain, tapos ‘yung chicken na nabili mo walang sarsa. So sabi ko bili muna ako sa tindahan…”

“Nakita ko na pinipicturan ako pero sabi ko na lang, bahala na, okay na ‘yan,” she added.

Nadine Lustre shared that she was actually amused when her picture went viral on social media. “Personally, I love memes, eh. Mas natuwa pa nga ako nang lumabas ‘yung photo na yon,” she said.

Last December, Nadine Lustre revealed that she now owns a place in Siargao. She also shared that living on that beautiful island helped her to improve her mental health.

“I feel like there’s a lot of weight that’s been lifted, and it just feels like, life in Siargao is so simple. I can go to a carinderia and eat there without any hassle,” she said.
