Megastar Sharon Cuneta recently revealed that she and her eldest daughter KC Concepcion are estranged. KC is Sharon’s daughter from her marriage with Gabby Concepcion.

In an interview with the press after filing a cyber libel case against showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin, Sharon admitted that she and KC are already estranged.

“Pati mga anak ko tulad sina Frankie… My God, they’re kids. They’re just studying. Wala silang ginagawa. Ano man ang problema namin ng panganay ko because at this point, we’re estranged. And I’m very, very hurt,” she revealed.

The singer emphasized that she still loves her eldest daughter despite their personal problems.

“But there are things na… tama na ‘yun. Amin na lang. Kahit bali–baliktarin mo ang mundo, mahal mo pa rin ang anak mo. So tiis–tiis na lang muna. Dadating ang point na ayoko nang isiksik ang sarili ko sa anak ko,” the Megastar added.

KC Concepcion Greets Sharon Cuneta For Mother’s Day 2024

Despite all the drama between the two, KC took to Instagram to post a Mother’s Day greeting for Sharon, writing, “To my beautiful mama, it’s your day. I pray for us to enjoy life’s pleasures and adventures together soon.”

Posting a throwback picture from her childhood where the Megastar can be seen holding KC in her arms, KC continued: “You’re the first person I ever met, and ever loved, it’s because of you that I’m here today. Trust in the way you raised me- I will always strive to make you proud and feel that having me was worth it.”

“I love you. I wish I could give you the world so you wouldn’t have to worry about anything for another second. Happy Mother’s Day mama!”

KC also uploaded a special video for Mother’s Day on her YouTube channel, where she shared her top 10 favorite gifts from Sharon over the years. Her top picks include a Louis Vuitton bag, a compilation of all the handwritten letters she has written Sharon from her childhood, and the clapperboard from KC’s first movie, For The First Time (2008).

It’s no secret that Sharon and KC haven’t had the easiest relationship these past few years, with the Megastar admitting in March 2024 that she hasn’t seen her daughter since her Dear Heart concert in October 2023.

“Siguro, since she grew up, she became very independent. We can’t blame her, but don’t blame me either,” Sharon quipped in a roundtable interview with the press for one of her endorsements.

“Basta, I did my best as a mom and the other kids are still… with me, and if she has another opinion, then there’s really nothing I can do about it,” she revealed.

She added: “I don’t know what her beef with me was.”

“Siguro hindi maiiwasan there are hurt feelings now. So, to end that, siguro even if KC and I never have a relationship again, I know that we’ll always love each other. And she’s turning 39, so alam na niya ‘yung right from wrong.”

In September 2023, KC admitted that she unfollowed her stepfather, politician Kiko Pangilinan, and her stepsister, Frankie Pangilinan.

In a separate interview, KC explained that she just wanted “peace of mind.”

“Kapag showbiz po talaga, ‘no, parang lumalaki. Hindi naman po masama na magkaroon ng time na meron kayong inu-unfollow or ifa-follow. Mahirap lang po talaga kapag showbiz yung family, talagang lahat pinupuna,” she stated.

KC noted that no family is immune from disagreements. “Like I said, may mga complicated po talaga sa blended family. Hindi po kami perpekto and hindi po laging kailangang perfect. Wala naman po akong gustong ikwento pa apart from the fact na, ako I just want peace of mind, I want to be happy, I want my family to be happy,” she shared.
