Kathryn didn’t hide her joy at being a part of the Kapamilya family again.

“Yes, I’m very, very happy. I mean, I’ve been with ABS-CBN for quite a while,” the young actress shared during her interview with Kris Aquino and Toni Gonzaga on The Buzz yesterday, August 31.

Kathryn, together with other prominent stars like Vhong Navarro and Ejay Falcon, remains loyal to ABS-CBN.

The Phenomenon of KathNiel

Kathryn and her longtime on-screen partner Daniel Padilla, collectively known as KathNiel, skyrocketed to fame after their successful movie She’s Dating the Gangster. This solidified their box-office appeal, leading to more hit films and TV series together.

However, Kathryn mentioned that she was surprised when she found out that The Hows of Us, which was initially planned to be a Viva Films production, became a co-production with Star Cinema.

“That caught me by surprise because we were told, ‘Okay, you and Daniel have another movie after Barcelona: A Love Untold.’ And then, a few weeks later, they said it’s going to be a co-production with Star Cinema,” she explained.

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Kathryn expressed excitement about her projects and her ongoing collaboration with Daniel.

Growing Together

When Kris asked Kathryn if she and Daniel still text each other “good morning,” Kathryn smiled and said, “No, we see each other all the time.”

The closeness between the two has always intrigued fans, with many rooting for their real-life romance to mirror their on-screen chemistry. However, Kathryn shared that they both value their careers and the opportunities that come with it.

“Kami ni DJ (Daniel), we really focus on our career, on this opportunity. We don’t want to rush into anything,” Kathryn said, referring to their mutual respect for their professional lives.

A Fun Gesture

Kris also playfully revealed that Kathryn once gave Daniel a pillow and blanket during one of their shoots. Kathryn explained that Daniel’s chair during the shoot was uncomfortable, so she wanted to make sure he was comfortable.

When asked about her upcoming projects, Kathryn remained tight-lipped, saying, “We haven’t been told yet what our next big series will be, but I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Apart from Daniel, Kris and Toni asked Kathryn if there are other male Kapamilya stars she finds charming. Kathryn smiled and quickly responded, “Joseph Marco… but, wait, no! He’s already taken.”

It seems that Kathryn Bernardo is as excited about her future as her fans are, and with her renewed contract with ABS-CBN, she’s ready to take on more challenges in her already illustrious career.
