Martin Nievera Recalls What A Nun Did To Him After His Breakup w/ Pops Fernandez

Martin Nievera talked about his relationship with Pops Fernandez then and now

Concert King Martin Nievera recalled what a nun did to him in a mall after his breakup with his ex-wife Concert Queen Pops Fernandez.



Martin and Pops started as friends when they worked together in the 80s show Penthouse Live. Eventually, their relationship became romantic. Then, they became parents to two sons.

However, this did not last long and the breakup happened. Martin shared in a recent interview on Toni Talks, the YouTube talk show of Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga, that his breakup with Pops was so publicized.

It was because their relationship was also open to the public. Martin Nievera was not afraid to admit his fault and they were so candid about what happened to their marriage.

When Toni Gonzaga said that Martin Nievera would always be associated with Pops Fernandez, the Concert King recalled an incident that showed how many people handled their separation.

Martin said that there was a time when he was walking in Glorietta when the place was still newly opened. Then, a nun was walking in his direction. The nun smiled and he answered a smile. However, he was shocked when the nun suddenly slapped him.

Martin asked the nun, “Bakit po? Did I offend you?” and the nun answered with a question also, “Bakit mo iniwan si Pops?!” The singer stayed with the nun for an hour as he tried to explain her what happened between him and Pops.

“Sa gitna ng mall nag-usap kami,” Martin shared. He added that the nun calmed down after being hysterical.

Then, Martin Nievera shared another incident. It was during his concert in Davao. He was interacting with his audience, asking their name and when he extended his hand to a person, the statement that he got was, “Bakit iniwan mo si Pops?”

His supposed 2 and a half hour concert lasted for four hours because he explained to the his audience what happened.
