Maiqui Pineda, the wife of TV host Robi Domingo, has addressed a false report claiming that she only has months to live due to her autoimmune condition. The rumor, which has circulated widely on Facebook, falsely attributed a quote to Domingo suggesting he was preparing for her imminent death.

In a statement posted on her Instagram Stories on November 4, Pineda shared a screenshot of the post from the Facebook page Pinoy Spotlight, which misleadingly claimed she was gravely ill. The post, which has gained over 80,000 reactions and 700 shares, quoted Domingo as saying, “Sobrang sakit! Ilang buwan ko na lang siya makakasama” (It is really painful! She only has a few months to live).

Pineda clarified that she doesn’t use Facebook and only learned about the post from friends and followers. She reassured her Instagram followers, with whom she frequently shares health updates, that she is managing her condition. “You guys know me best,” she wrote, asking for support in reporting the post for spreading false health information.

Pineda has dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness and skin inflammation, a condition she publicly revealed with Domingo in August 2023 as they prepared for their wedding. The couple got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot in January 2024.
