Barbie Hsu’s mother, asked to respect their mourning.

The family of Meteor Garden star Barbie Hsu is in the process of finalizing the funeral arrangements following the popular actress’ death due to influenza-induced pneumonia in Japan on February 2, 2025.

The bereaved family of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has decided to have her remains cremated in Japan before bringing them back to Taiwan for a memorial service.

Barbie’s mother has asked to respect their private mourning over the death of the  Meteor Garden  actress.

Barbie’s mother has not yet been able to say the date of their return to Taiwan due to the process being implemented in Japan.

He also asked reporters to stop following all their movements and places they go.

BARBIE HSU’S LAST DAYS

According to reports, Barbie is with her family on vacation in Hakone, Japan.

They celebrated Chinese Lunar New Year there last week.

On January 29, 2025, Barbie allegedly started coughing and had an asthma attack, so she only stayed in her hotel room from January 30 to January 31.

Barbie’s friends noticed the actress’s worsening condition, so they traveled to Tokyo on February 1 to have the actress checked at a clinic.

From here, he was taken to a larger hospital.

Barbie’s examination revealed that she had influenza, so the doctor who examined her gave her medicine.

But Barbie’s condition became serious.

The actress previously suffered from heart disease and epilepsy, so she was rushed to the hospital on February 2.

Unfortunately, Barbie passed away at the age of 48 due to pneumonia resulting from influenza.

BARBIE HSU LEFT BEHIND HER CHILDREN AND HUSBAND

Barbie is survived by her two children from her ex-husband Wang Xiaofei — a nine-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy.

Wang was on vacation in Thailand but immediately returned to Taiwan when the sad news reached him.

Barbie and Xiaofei got married in 2011. 

After ten years of marriage, they divorced in 2021.

The following year, 2022, Barbie married her ex-boyfriend, South Korean singer and DJ Koo Jun-yup.

Barbie became very popular in the Philippines for her character Shan Cai, which she played in the phenomenal hit drama series  Meteor Garden  (2001).

Its Tagalog-dubbed version aired on ABS-CBN in 2003.

Meteor Garden also became popular in Thailand, Indonesia, and various other countries,   so many of Barbie’s fans were deeply saddened by her loss.

The public’s interest in Meteor Garden has been revived   due to Barbie’s death, so they are re-watching old episodes of the popular Taiwanese TV series on YouTube.
