Cristine Reyes Leaves MMFF Awards Night Due to Family Emergency
Actress Cristine Reyes left the 50th Anniversary Gabi ng Parangal of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on December 27, 2024, due to a family emergency. Contrary to speculations by some media outlets, her departure had nothing to do with the announcement of Sid Lucero as Best Supporting Actor for their film.
According to Cristine’s older sister, Ara Mina, their mother, Francis Marie Klenk former beauty queen and actress Venus Imperial as her screen name, was rushed to the hospital that evening. Ara Mina confirmed that Cristine left the event in tears because she was deeply worried about their mother’s condition. “The rumors circulating about Cristine’s departure being linked to the awards are completely untrue,” Ara Mina stated.
Ara Mina shared updates on social media, revealing that she and Cristine were at the hospital to accompany their mother in the emergency room. “We didn’t get proper sleep that night just to make sure our mom was well taken care of,” Ara explained.
Netizens have expressed their sympathy for Cristine, noting that the emotional moment caught on camera likely stemmed from her anxiety over their mother’s health. Messages of support and prayers for their mother’s recovery poured in, with many wishing her a speedy recovery.
