Nadine Lustre can perfectly do a movie without a love interest

Actress Nadine Lustre felt nice not having an onscreen partner in her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022 movie Deleter.

Nadine rose to fame as the onscreen partner of James Reid in the movie Ang Diary Ng Panget in 2014. As their chemistry was loved by many, from that, they became official love team partners and did several series and movies while they were under the management of ABS-CBN.

Eventually, their onscreen partnership became a reality. During their JaDine concert in 2016, they confirmed that they are together as a couple. They continued doing projects together but in 2020, their breakup was confirmed. Now, they are doing separate projects, especially since Nadine Lustre left James Reid’s record label Careless Music.

In the movie Deleter, Nadine’s character worked independently and this is something that makes her happy, based on the article in Bandera. During a recent interview, the actress said, “Yes, it’s nice to do projects without relying on a regular partner. In ‘Deleter’, wala akong love interest.”

Her character Lyra loves to be alone and wears a lot of masks to conceal the trauma that she got from what happened to her in the past and she is trying to forget about it.

“But as the film shows, you cannot just erase or delete the past. When something happens to her friend, si Louise de los Reyes, she becomes an instrument in finding out what really happened to her,” the actress said about her character.

Nadine added that she used to do romantic-comedies and dramas in the past and this movie is really something so different for her. She said that it is more tiring to do suspense-thriller projects.

In this particular movie, most of the time she is alone and she is just facing the computer monitor. She has no co-star to interact with her. “Wala akong kabatuhan ng linya, so I don’t even really see what’s happening on screen. Our director, Mikhail Red, just tells me kung ano ang dapat na maging reaction ko while I’m watching the monitor,” she shared.

With this, Nadine Lustre said that she had to make her imagination work and this is something challenging for her since she has not done this before.
