Cathy Garcia-Sampana shared why she does not want to work with Vilma Santos

Blockbuster director Cathy Garcia-Sampana revealed the reason why she does not want to direct Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos.

Direk Cathy has worked with the biggest stars in the entertainment industry. She has done many movies that made it big when it comes to blockbuster profit.

The recent successful film she directed was Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to her 2019 movie Hello, Love, Goodbye featuring Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards and Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Direk Cathy Garcia-Sampana is particularly proud of HLA because it is the second Pinoy movie that got the most number of cinema tickets.

Looking at the number of cinema tickets sold meant that many people watched the movie. For her, it is more important than the movie’s profit. HLA is just second to the movie Anak featuring Vilma Santos and Claudine Barretto.

Direk Cathy revealed that she has received several offers to direct a movie starring the Star For All Seasons. However, the female director politely turned down these offers.

She said that she does not know how to tell an icon like Vilma to have a take 2 of a certain scene and just by thinking of this, she is already feeling nervous.

However, Direk Cathy said that she is not closing her door to the possibility of working with Vilma in the future, just like how she overcame her fear of directing Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda and Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

Direk Cathy directed Sharon’s movie Three Words To Forever with Richard Gomez and Kathryn Bernardo in 2018. She directed Vice Ganda in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 movie Partners In Crime with Ivana Alawi.
