Virat Kohli highest Taxpaying Indian athlete in 2024 with whopping Rs 64 crore, Rohit Sharma misses – Who are the Top Five in the List?
India’s batting sensation Virat Kohli paid the biggest amount of tax among all the sportspersons of India in the financial year of 2023-24, as per reports.
The former India captain has once again emerged as the highest taxpaying sportsperson in India for the last financial year. According to Fortune India, Kohli paid an impressive ₹66 crore in taxes.
All of the top five taxpayers athletes in India are cricketers, which is not much of a surprise. But India captain Rohit Sharma missed out on the list, whereas Sourav Ganguly’s name is among the top five highest tax payers.
Top Taxpaying Indian Athletes in Financial Year 2024
The list of the highest taxpaying Indian athletes for the Financial Year 2024 is led by Virat Kohli with Rs 66 crore. MS Dhoni follows Kohli with Rs 38 crore, while Sachin Tendulkar paid Rs 28 crore. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly and current Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya complete the top five list.

Virat Kohli’s net worth as of 2024 is estimated to exceed ₹1,000 crore. The 35-year-old’s wealth largely stems from his cricket career, including contracts with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and his participation in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Kohli’s income is significantly bolstered by numerous endorsements with leading global brands such as Puma, Audi, and MRF. Additionally, he owns various business ventures, including the fitness brand ‘One8’ in collaboration with Puma.
