Vic Sotto On Case: “I have a clean conscience”

This is what Vic Sotto said days after filing the cyber libel complaint.

Veteran actor-host Vic Sotto has this to say after filing 19 counts of cyber libel complaints against director Darryl Yap.



After the name of Vic Sotto was mentioned in a controversial way in the teaser of the Pepsi Paloma movie, he filed a complaint against its director Darryl Yap. Sotto filed a case against Yap that seeks total damage of Php 35 million.

He filed 19 counts of cyber libel complaints. In the Php 35 million amount for total damages, Php 20 million of which is for the moral damages as “physical suffering, mental anguish, fright, serious anxiety, besmirched reputation, wounded feelings, moral shock, social humiliation, or similar harm” were inflicted.

Previously, Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 205 granted Yap’s motion to issue a gag order regarding the case. All parties are “to observe strict confidentiality in compliance with the sub judice rule” to ensure that matters are kept away from the public’s awareness until it is resolved.

Amid the gag order, Sotto was interviewed by reporters and during the media launch of his latest superfood endorsement. Looking chill and unfazed by the issue, he expressed that he was good and relaxed because he trusted God.

He is going with the flow and added, “I have a clean conscience. Malinis ang pakiramdam ko. Wala namang dapat ika-worry. So, mai-i-stress ka lang pagka inisip mo eh.”

When asked how he was handling the situation, he spoke in a cool way and confidently expressed that as long as he was taking the straight path, he would be good to go and this is what matters most.

He is grateful to the people who supported him and his family since he filed the complaints. He was grateful to Tito Sotto and Joey De Leon. He said, “Of course, they are all out support (for me). Kahit anong mangyari sama-sama kami.”
