MANILA, Philippines — Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, fondly called “KathNiel,” have been a love team for six years. Now, all signs show that they have taken that romance to the next level: real life.

Their statements say it all.

“At first, I thought it was because we’re a love team,” explained Kathryn. “Then I saw how serious he is with his intentions. That’s when I said, ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love’.”

Daniel added, “We see each other every day for the past six years. But I’m still excited when I see her.”

He lovingly put a hand on Kathryn’s knee and patted it lightly. She held Daniel’s arm as they sit beside each other. Their body language was a giveaway to their real feelings for each other.

After conquering 40-feet high cliffs in their latest movie, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” KathNiel is excited to have more adventures together.  Kathryn’s dream destinations are Palawan, Amanpulo, Maldives, Bali and Phuket.

Skydiving, her next mission for Daniel, will challenge his fear of heights even more (he first conquered it when he jumped from the cliff  in a scene from the movie).

In “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Kathryn plays Gab, a financial advisor who helps clients invest their money. She plans her life to secure her future.

Daniel’s character Dos, on the other hand, is Gab’s exact opposite. He lives for the moment and does not take problems to heart.

In return, Daniel has Kathryn’s total love and devotion.

“It’s important that I give my all. I don’t want to regret anything someday, because I had shortcomings,” she said.

Yes, they have disagreements. What relationship doesn’t? And Daniel says sorry “even if the fault is hers.”

Kathryn takes this as a sign of love.

“What’s important is we want to fix the problem. It means love is still there,” she pointed out.

True enough, she said, she feels that she is “drowning in love” with Daniel.
