Veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto became a trending topic these past few days and it is because of director Darryl Yap’s Pepsi Paloma movie.



The movie teaser caught the attention of the online community as it mentioned the name of Vic. His fans and supporters criticized the director for involving the veteran comedian-host in his controversial movie.

In a recent Facebook post, amid the criticism for mentioning Vic Sotto in the movie teaser. Direk Darryl Yap shared a post addressing this matter.

He said that he did not know if he should say sorry to the Eat Bulaga host for his name was mentioned in the Pepsi Paloma movie teaser.

However, the director said that as a public figure involved in a public story, this cannot be avoided. He also stressed that respects the pillars of the industry but he needs to tell this story.

In a recent episode of Showbiz Now Na, the YouTube show of Cristy Fermin, she defended Vic Sotto against Darryl Yap’s Pepsi Paloma movie teaser.

“Ano ang gusto mo, Direk Darryl? Ang wasakin si Bossing Vic Sotto dahil sa tagumpay ng ‘The Kingdom? Kahit pa magkababayan kayo sa Olongapo, wala kang alam. Anong sabi ko sa ‘yo? Bakit kailangan mo pa itong gawin? Ano ang iyong layunin?” she said.

Cristy also believed that this movie project has limitations, especially if it will drag other personalities. The veteran showbiz insider pointed out that there should be “respect.”

Previously, Kapuso journalist Arnold Clavio also slammed Direk Darryl Yap after the movie teaser was released. The son of the late comedian Richie D’Horsie also shared a post hinting at taking legal action against the controversial director. Richie was also involved in Pepsi Paloma movie, as well as, Henyo Master Joey de Leon.
