Kapamilya noontime variety show ‘It’s Showtime’ continues to dominate the noontime slot despite its departure from GTV’s broadcast lineup.

According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings, ‘It’s Showtime’ consistently leads the noontime ratings battle with a significant margin over its rival, ‘EAT… Bulaga.’

On Wednesday, January 15, ‘It’s Showtime’ held steady at 11th place with the same 6.0 percent rating, while ‘EAT… Bulaga’ improved marginally to 3.3 percent.

Thursday, January 16, saw a slight dip for It’s Showtime, which posted a 5.7 percent rating, while ‘EAT… Bulaga’ continued its gradual rise, reaching 3.4 percent.

By Friday, January 17, ‘It’s Showtime’ experienced another slight decline, recording a 5.5 percent rating. Despite this, it maintained a comfortable lead over ‘EAT… Bulaga,’ which further improved to 3.6 percent.

The sustained dominance of It’s Showtime in the noontime ratings race, even after losing GTV as a broadcast platform, demonstrates its strong and loyal viewer base, enabling the show to remain ahead of its competition.

The shift away from GTV to ABS-CBN-only broadcast has raised some eyebrows. GTV had previously provided additional exposure for the show, helping it reach an even wider audience. However, this change has not seemed to hinder its performance, as ‘It’s Showtime’ has retained its loyal viewers who continue to tune in, either on ABS-CBN’s traditional broadcast or through the network’s online platforms.

Industry analysts believe that ‘It’s Showtime’’s continued dominance is attributed to the show’s versatility in engaging audiences and the strong following built over the years. Despite the loss of additional broadcast support, the show’s presence on multiple platforms — including YouTube, Facebook, and iWantTFC — has kept it in the hearts and minds of its viewers.

‘It’s Showtime’ has established itself as an iconic noontime show, known for its unique format that blends entertainment with moments of sincerity, inspiring stories, and the fostering of talent. The show’s diverse cast, including hosts like Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, and Vhong Navarro, has been crucial in maintaining its widespread appeal.

Moreover, the show has consistently introduced new segments and formats to keep the content fresh and engaging, ensuring that it never becomes stagnant. This has been essential in retaining its place as the go-to noontime program for many Filipinos.

Despite losing its broadcast on GTV, ‘It’s Showtime’ has proven its staying power in the entertainment industry. By embracing digital platforms, maintaining strong viewer engagement, and adapting to changes in the television landscape, the show has remained the top contender in the competitive noontime slot. As the program continues to innovate and connect with its audience, ‘It’s Showtime’ is set to remain the noontime television giant, proving that good content, loyal viewers, and adaptability are key to success in the ever-changing world of
