MANILA, Philippines – The NLEX Road Warriors will be playing without veteran big man Asi Taulava when they take on Barangay Ginebra Wednesday night in the 2016 PBA Governors Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The PBA announced on Tuesday night that Taulava has been suspended for one game and fined a total of P32,500 for his actions during their game against San Miguel Beer last Friday.

Taulava exchanged shoves and words with San Miguel’s David Semerad after the Beerman committed a hard foul against NLEX import Henry Walker.

Taulava was assessed a technical foul for second motion, which bore a penalty of P2,500, a flagrant foul penalty 2, which cost him P20,000, and was fined an additional P10,000 “for joining the fracas instead of pacifying the protagonists.”

San Miguel went on to win the game, 94-93, after a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Marcio Lassiter.

The Road Warriors will thus be undermanned when they try to bounce back against the Gin Kings, who are also stinging from a 100-109 overtime loss to Alaska last Sunday.

Walker, who scored 33 points against San Miguel, will be matched up against Ginebra’s Justin Brownlee, who scored 31 points against Alaska before succumbing to fouls late in the game.

In the other game of the double-header, San Miguel will look to claim its third straight win when they play the Mahindra Enforcer.
