Rita Daniel revealed that she was once a third party to a celebrity couple a few years ago. In an episode of Sarap, Di’ Ba?, the Kapuso actress admitted that she unwillingly became a third party.

Rita didn’t drop any hints as to who the celebrity couple was but shared that the two have tied the knot already.

“Na-experience ko na maging third party sa isang relasyon. Naghiwalay sila dahil sa akin,” she shared.

The actress added that it was sometime between 2017 and 2018 when the incident happened. Ken Chan, who was also present on the show, revealed to the cast that he knew the story and hinted that the girl was a celebrity.

Rita then explained that she had no idea she was a third party as her then-boyfriend assured her that he was already single. She added that she immediately called it quits after she found out about the other girl.

“Usually pag sinasabi nila yan, di sila okay. Tapos meron pa rin pala so nung nalaman ko siympre tinigil [ko] ‘di ba,” she explained.

She shared that the guy was persistent in getting back together with her but she maintained her distance to avoid any more issues.

“So nung tinigil, medyo naging makulit si guy so ginawa ko lahat para hindi na siya matuloy. Nung nalaman ni girl, naghiwalay na sila. But also, nangyari yung kasi wala pa akong God nun sa buhay ko,” she added.

Despite unknowing becoming the third party, Rita shared that she continuously apologized to the couple for the misunderstanding.

The actress previously revealed in an interview with Boy Abunda back in June 2023 that she ended her relationship with her non-showbiz partner who is the father of her child. She shared that things didn’t work out for them as a couple but they remain civil with one another.

“We really tried our best just like everybody else but it didn’t work out. Pero ang maganda diyan, Tito Boy, we’re good friends e, very very good friends,” she shared.
