No deal, apparently, in the first place – straight from Tropang Giga team manager’s mouth

TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa categorically denied that the Tropang Giga are in talks to acquire Christian Standhardinger.

Lastimosa said TNT is not even attempting to engage in any discussions with Standhardinger or Terrafirma – let alone, make any player movement since the Tropang Giga are already happy with their core and with their chemistry intact.

TNT is fresh off capturing the PBA 49th Season Governors’ Cup, and is on a roll in the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup, winning five straight for a 5-2 win-loss mark following its 94-87 win over NLEX on Wednesday.

“There was never a conversation on management side whatsoever to him about TNT’s interest,” said Lastimosa in a message to SPIN.ph on Wednesday.

Lastimosa also added that they have nothing to offer, anyway, to the Dyip, which has Standhardinger’s rights after he became a free agent at the end of 2024.

“We are not pursuing him because we don’t have anything to offer in the first place. It doesn’t make sense breaking up our chemistry,” the one-time PBA champion coach also said.

Terrafirma had said the 35-year-old Standhardinger retired prior to the opening of the Commissioner’s Cup.

Standhardinger, a one-time Finals MVP and two-time Best Player of the Conference, is reportedly back in the country after being seen on a Facebook post purchasing a vehicle.
