Popular South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron died by suicide, police said Monday. She was 24.

The Netflix star, best known for her role in the 2023 hit series “Bloodhounds,” was found dead Sunday around 4:50 p.m. local time at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, by a friend who had plans to meet her.

“We believe she made an extreme choice and plan to handle it as a suicide,” officials told reporters, via local Yonhap news agency.

Authorities added that the actress did not leave a suicide note.

On Sunday, police said they found no “signs of foul play,” and added that the investigation into her death was ongoing.

The star — who made her acting debut at age 9 — rose to fame with roles in the 2010 action movie “The Man from Nowhere” and the 2012 thriller “The Neighbor.”

However, she was forced to put her acting career on the back burner after drunkenly crashing her car into a roadside electrical transformer box in May 2022, the South China Morning Post reported.

As a result, she was forced into hiding and was fined $20 million won, or $13,850.

The crash had caused enough public humiliation to drive her out of the limelight, including stepping down from her role in the drama series “Trolley,” the outlet added.

Kim attempted a return to the spotlight last year, but she was soon plagued with health issues that forced her to retreat once again.
