As a mom to her five-year-old son Elias, Ellen Adarna embraces a chill and relaxed parenting style.

However, like many parents, she does not condone pasaway behavior.

In a Q&A session via Instagram Stories on June 30, 2023, Ellen entertained some questions from her followers and openly discussed her approach to disciplining her son.

Does she spank Elias?

In one of her posts, Ellen playfully directed the question to Elias: “Does mama spank you? Yes or no?”

Elias, who seemed like he had just woken up, did not answer right away.

Ellen then repeated the question: “Do I spank you?”

Elias replied, “Mmm-mmm,” while shaking his head, which means no.

In a separate post, one of Ellen’s followers asked her, “Paano nalalaman ni Elias kung galit ka na po?”

With Elias present, she responded, “With my eyes and with my tone…”

Addressing Elias, she asked, “But I do not shout, right?”

Ellen continued, “You just hear my voice, and I don’t say anything. I do not shout, right? You just see it in my face that I’m not happy, right?”

So how does Ellen discipline Elias?

The 35-year-old celebrity mom prefers to give him punishment that will let him realize the consequences of his bad behavior, and, at the same time, teach him valuable lessons.

She said, “It’s either no iPad for 24 hours or worse is that he will sleep in the other room because we still co-sleep, and he likes to sleep beside me.

“And if he does something really unpleasant, that’s his punishment.

“He will sleep in the other room, but that happened only three times. And he listens and he learns from it so…

“He’s a very easy child, thank god, I don’t really have the need to go to the extremes.”
