Kris Aquino on setting aside her three-month rift with brother, former President Noynoy Aquino, for the sake of her son Josh: “Umamin na alam kong na hurt ko sya pero nakiusap- KAILANGAN sya ni kuya josh. My son needed him—the ONLY constant male figure in his life.”

Kris Aquino revealed that she and her brother, former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, had a rift for the past three months because of their “complicated relationship” as siblings.

They were not on speaking terms until Noynoy came to visit Kris’s eldest son, Josh, at the hospital last night, July 18.

Kris elaborated, “My brother & i have had a complicated relationship, siguro po kasi only son & middle child sya, bunso ako.

Sa bawat pag ospital, si tito Noy was always there.”

Owning up to her fault, Kris went on to say that she initiated a reconciliation with Noynoy so he can visit Josh.

“My son needed him—the ONLY constant male figure in his life.”

Showing a photo of Noynoy visiting Josh at the hospital, Kris added in her Instagram caption, “From afar, i took this picture.

“Sharing w/ you because ito kami—PAMILYA na kagaya nyong lahat.

In a separate Instagram post, Kris showed a video of how she kept Josh calm by hugging him close to her while a nurse extracted blood from him.

Kris also kept Josh distracted by asking him to sing his favorite songs about patriotism for the country, which he learned from his grandmom, the late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino.

Then Kris asked Josh to thank the people praying for him right after his blood extraction, as seen in her Instagram post below:

ON CARING FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. In the comments’ thread in one of her posts, Kris pointed out that she was a bit hesitant to share how she addresses Josh’s special needs because of how expensive it is.

But Kris expressed her hope to spread awareness about providing unconditional love and support for children and adults with special needs.

“We still live in a country where hunger & poverty need to be battled and mental health awareness as well as caring for children & adults w/ special needs is a problem that can only be widely addressed when the economy and is much stronger & stable…

“That is why i hesitate to share all the intervention that we have done because the truth is— we managed because i have been financially blessed & didn’t want to be accused of speaking about what we continue to do because all the specialists, therapists, teachers, tutors, and coaches are expensive…”

That she may have led what others think as a privileged life doesn’t change the fact that she went through difficult experiences that others can relate to “on an emotional level,” she said.

“I lost 1 parent at such a young age & so suddenly, and i lost another one after such a painful illness.
