Janine Gutierrez just shared an interesting (and juicy!) detail about her role as Iris in Lavender Fields! In a vlog where Janine talked about some designer pieces that her character wore, the actress openly talked about her first onscreen kiss with Jericho Rosales.

The two have been publicly dating since 2024 and it was no secret that they got to know each other better through the show. In case you haven’t watched it yet—it’s on Netflix, btw—there was a scene where Iris and Tyrone (Echo’s character) kissed by the poolside. And yes, both were wearing their swimwear.

Janine rocked a sultry red bikini during the scene. As tt turns out, it was also the first time Janine wore a bikini on television! As if it wasn’t already a memorable scene for the award-winning actress, she added that it was also the first time she kissed Echo, and—get this—they weren’t even close at the time (!) ICYDK, it was also the first time that Janine and Echo worked together.

According to Janine, she felt some pressure to look good on cam while wearing a bikini. So to make sure she’s feeling her best, she took the liberty of personally choosing the swimsuit she’s wearing during that scene.

“I’ve never worn a bikini on TV and it’s super intimidating kasi I’ve done it, of course, in photoshoots. Pero in photoshoots, I’ve always felt safe, kasi it’s a photo and you can choose the best photo,” she shared. According to Janine, she’s always felt safe taking sexy swimsuit photos during photoshoots because she has been working with her glam team and her go-to photographer, BJ Pascual‘s team, for years.

But when it comes to filming a teleserye, it’s a whole different thing since there are a lot of people on set. Still, Janine powered through the whole experience. And so when the day came for her to film that bikini scene with Echo, she definitely felt nervous. She recalled that it was also the first day she got to shoot something with her now-boyfriend.

“Second taping day ko, and first taping day ko ‘to with Jericho and then nag-bikini na ako agad. Tapos may kiss pa agad. Tapos hindi pa kami close, siyempre,” Janine disclosed in her vlog.

Smiling through the vlog, she talked about the dedication she exerted for that short scene. After all, it was all about making an impression and effectively portraying the diva that Iris is. “Anyway, so pinaghandaan ko talaga na mag-bikini on TV. Sometimes it’s true that the TV makes you look bigger. And I just really wanted to do my best and be like really fit, to match rin the personality of Iris. Super talagang nag-workout ako. I just wanted to look really good for the first bikini scene of Iris,” Janine stated.
