Kai Montinola reveals the common misconceptions of people about her

While she may come off as very kikay, very demure, and quite mataray due to her eyebrows, Bianca Gonzalez disclosed during her BRGY interview with Kai Montinola that the 4th Big Placer of PInoy Big Brother Gen 11” actually plays badminton and basketball. However, Kai implied that these are not the only misconceptions that she receives from other people and she has to correct growing up.

“What I’ve noticed, people see me as a very shallow person and most people think that I don’t understand what they’re trying to say kasi maybe I just care for how the way I look. Misconceptions such as walang maiambag pa other than what you look, ‘yon ang palagi kong nakukuha,” she elaborated.

Nonetheless, that misconception never made her want to prove herself more nor work harder in order to dispel the notion of her being “ganda lang.” It’s because she firmly believes that it will come at the right time and she doesn’t have to try so hard to show people what she can do or not. “As long as it’s needed, I will do it. But if I don’t have to do it, I won’t,” she said.

Kai then revealed that the “PBB Gen 11” housemates actually used to see her as maldita and maarte, which she didn’t mind at all since she knows that she cannot change nor control other people’s perception of her.

On getting reunited with her biological mother

Apart from being able to build connections with the housemates, Kai was also able to finally find the missing link in her true identity as “PBB Gen 11” was able to bridge the gap between her and her long-lost biological mom, whom she had only met for the first time inside Bahay ni Kuya.

“It was just so surreal. In fact, when I met her, I didn’t even cry. I was just so surprised. [Finally], nangyari na ang something na ginusto ko na before. I was curious. My mom was always, ‘you have to meet them’ kasi ayaw ko noon. And then, after that, I just felt like I was liberated, like I didn’t have anything holding me back anymore. My pagkatao was like fulfilled,” Kai stated.

Despite finally meeting her biological mother, Kai assured her adoptive mom that she would never leave her and her adoptive dad since it was them who raised her to become the young yet palaban woman that she is at present. She told them, “I will share my love for them, for bringing me into this world. But most of my love will go to you, guys, because I wouldn’t have become the person that I am right now if it weren’t for [you].”

The interview capped off with Kai expressing her heartfelt gratitude to all her supporters for their love and effort for her, which she really appreciates. In fact, she even keeps the notes that some of them handed her in her journal.
