Actress Liza Soberano and her former onscreen partner Enrique Gil are developing an exciting project aimed at elevating Philippine cinema.

“We are trying to come up with a concept we can do together. In the future. I cannot guarantee it is in the next year, the concept needs to be fleshed out. It is something new,” Soberano said in an interview during the product launch of Dr. Shiba in Makati City on Thursday.

Gil made his debut as a producer in 2024, while Soberano launched her own production company in the same year.

In a previous interview, Gil shared that Soberano was interested in the horror film he is planning to produce following the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Hospital Killer Hospital.”

The actor also admitted that he hopes to work with Soberano, who has been busy in the United States, on screen again.

“Of course, si Liza. But she is in the US. “She is really focused on her US career. Dami niya auditions and events doon… We are focused on our careers,” Gil said in an interview.

Following her Hollywood debut in “Lisa Frankenstein,” Soberano teased that she would again be shooting a film in the U.S.

“I have a shoot in Los Angeles. i cannot disclose details yet, but we will go in filming sometime in April,” she enthused.

While she remained tight-lipped about her other project, the actress confirmed that she would also be starring in a local film.

“I am doing a movie here in the Philippines third quarter. Hopefully, it will be shown end of the year or early next,” she shared.

Soberano also expressed openness to returning to the small screen.

“I am open to doing the teleserye. It comes down to the concept. I am at the stage I just want to try doing all types of characters and genres. I am just looking for something kakaiba,” she explained.
