Marian Rivera, wife of Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes, admitted that gets jealous of women who became her husband’s leading ladies, but she clarified that she knows how to handle her jealousy.

Rivera opened up about jealousy in a sit-down interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila, who asked if she was the jealous type. which was uploaded on the latter’s YouTube channel on Thursday, March 20,

“Nasa lugar (at the right place),” she said in response. The celebrity mom then clarified that women tend to get jealous for the right reasons while reiterating that it’s their nature.

“Kasi may dahilan. Ang babae, hindi magseselos ng walang dahilan. Kapag wala kang selos na naramdaman or [you’re told] na hindi ka pwedeng magselos kasi wala kang trust, hindi. Nature ng babae ‘yan,” she said.

(For the right reasons. Women won’t get jealous for no reason. If you don’t feel jealous or you’re told that you can’t get jealous because you have no trust, no. It’s a woman’s nature.)

“Kapag may nakikita kang alanganin na ginagawa ang babae sa partner mo, alangan namang sabihin mo, ‘Ang galing, ang sweet nila together.’ ‘Kinikilig ako.’ My God, napaka-ipokrita n’un. No, no for me,” said Rivera.

“Kapag may sitwasyon na nakikita kang alanganin, magrereact ka talaga. Ang problema lang, nagrereact agad ako ‘dun sa babae. Dapat pala sa kanya ako mag-react,” she continued, while gesturing to her husband.

(When you see a woman acting differently toward your partner, you can’t say, “That’s nice. They’re sweet together.” “I feel butterflies seeing them.” My God, what a hypocritical thing to say. It’s a no-no for me. If you see a situation that feels weird, you’re bound to react. The problem for me, however, is that I react toward the woman. I should’ve reacted toward my husband.)

Rivera was then asked if she is on good terms with the women she felt jealous over, to which she said she is “trying to be civil.” However, she didn’t reveal the names of the women she harbored jealousy toward in the past.

“Kapag nakikita ko sila, naiilang sila kasi alam nila ang sitwasyon kung bakit ko ‘yun ginawa sa kanila. Pero ngayon, kapag nakikita ko, I’m trying to be civil. Tapos may isang pagkakataon na ako ang nag-initiate ng ‘Pinapatawad na kita.’ Naloka siya,” she said.

(When I see them, they feel awkward because they know why I acted that way toward them. But now, I’m trying to be civil. There was one instance where I initiated approaching her to say, “I forgave you.” She was shocked.)

Staying on the topic, the actress said she doesn’t have a reason to harbor anger in her heart. She nonetheless hoped that the unnamed women “learned their lesson.”

“Ang punto ko kasi is wala nang dahilan kung ang bitterness ko ay nandito pa [sa puso]. Parang ni-let go. Sa isip-isip ko na lang, learn your lesson, girl. Huwag mo nang gawin sa iba ‘yan. Pero mas masarap pala na wala kang kaaway at pinapatawad mo ‘yung mga nakagawa ng kasalanan sa’yo,” she said.

(The point is there is no reason to harbor bitterness in my heart. I let it go. In my mind, I told them, “Learn your lesson, girl.” Don’t do it to others. It feels nice that you don’t have an enemy and you forgive those who wronged you.)

Rivera was also briefly asked during the interview if she was ready to have a third child with Dantes, she laughingly admitted that it’s a “50-50” for her while the actor wanted to have another baby.

The actress, best known for her lead roles in “Marimar,” “Dyesebel,” “Darna,” and “Rewind,” has been married to Dantes since 2014. They have two children, Zia and Jose Sixto.
