Nadia Montenegro said that her daughter, Sophia, was allegedly bullied following Baron Geisler’s revelation that he is Sophia’s father. The veteran actress also confirmed that Sophia is indeed their child.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Nadia discussed the family’s ordeal after Baron’s interview with Ogie Diaz. Although Baron did not specifically mention Sophia or Nadia, the actress claimed it was an “open secret,” which led other media outlets to reveal Sophia’s identity.

“You came out in an interview all of a sudden without even asking us?” Nadia said. “Even if you didn’t mention my name, sa tingin mo hindi kami nabulabog? Did you even think for a while what could happen to your daughter?”

When Boy Abunda asked how Nadia knew Baron was referring to them without mentioning names, Nadia responded, “It’s an open secret, dahil may inamin siya sa interview niya kay Ogie Diaz and then pinick up nanaman ng mga masasamang elemento.”

Nadia revealed the impact of Baron’s sudden revelation on her daughter. “She [Sophia] was bullied,” Nadia shared. She recounted how someone posted a picture of Baron in jail on the student council page, asking, ‘Kaninong tatay ‘to?’”

In March 2018, police arrested actor Baron in Angeles City, Pampanga, after he allegedly threatened to kill his brother-in-law, Michael Robin Stone Morales, the husband of Geisler’s sister Grace.

Baron faced charges of grave threat, alarm and scandal, and illegal possession of a deadly weapon, all filed by Morales. After serving two years in prison, the actor was taken directly to a rehabilitation center by his siblings, Donnie and Grace.

Nadia had a message for Baron, saying she doesn’t need any “spokesperson.” She clarified that she always faces her problems and issues head-on. “I do things not because I wanna hurt people, I do things now because I want people to learn from my mistakes.”

The actress explained that she chose to have the interview with Boy to put an end to the issue, stating, “I want this to end because my daughter is turning 18 soon. And she does need to come out of this world to answer questions for her mother.”

Nadia also revealed that Baron and Sophia have always communicated, but Baron insisted they meet secretly. She mentioned that Baron would often send drunk messages to Sophia, which didn’t help her daughter.

Meanwhile, Nadia shared that she and her late partner, Boy Asistio, had agreed to only tell Sophia about her real father once Boy was gone.

“All he asked me was not to tell her until he was gone, and I kept that promise,” she said. “Dahil ayaw niya magbago ang tingin ni Sophia sa kaniya.”

Nadia concluded her interview on an emotional note, saying she is happy that she now has nothing to hide.
