Sarah was Kokoi’s coach during the second season of The Voice Philippines of which the latter was a popular auditionee.

“Maraming salamat at ibinahigi mo sa amin ang talento mo sa musika.. Marami po akong natutunan sa inyo lalo na ang prinsipyo nyo sa buhay,” she wrote.

It was reported that Kokoi was riding a motorcycle at one in the morning and he tried to overtake a vehicle in front of him. He then lost control of his motorcycle and was unfortunately run over by a 10-wheeler truck carrying sugarcane.

“Maraming salamat, Sir Kokoi. May your soul rest in God’s presence,” she added.

Meanwhile, netizens paid tribute as well to Kokoi in the comment section. Others remembered the singer’s blind audition which became a trending topic on social media for quite some time.

Until now, his blind audition and performance videos have the highest views in the Voice PH YouTube channel. Gone too soon. Kokoi, whose real name is Juan Manuel Ubaldo, was dubbed as the Bob Marley of the Philippines for his reggae style of singing. He rose to popularity after his blind auditions in the reality program, the video for which has reached 73 million views on YouTube as of this writing.

Updates on Kokoi’s funeral details have yet to be announced by his family on his official Facebook account.
