Fortune teller’s earlier prediction that Barbie Hsu would not live past 50 comes true as she passes away at 48

Barbie Hsu

(Taipei) Barbie Hsu, has sadly passed away at the age of 48, leaving a profound sense of loss among her fans. Her life was nothing short of extraordinary, marked by significant personal milestones, including her marriage to South Korean actor Koo Jun-yup, also known as DJ Koo, after her divorce from Wang Xiaofei.

Two years prior to her death, fortune teller Chen Zhi-yi had warned that Barbie Hsu was experiencing a “draining of energy.” He cautioned that if she did not take time to recuperate, her fortunes would not improve, and her hasty decision to enter a new marriage could exacerbate her health issues. Chen suggested that during certain life phases, especially those marked by misfortune, one should avoid making hurried decisions, as it could lead to greater regrets in the future.

Barbie Hsu had previously shared on a television programme that a fortune teller predicted she would not live beyond 50. Reflecting on mortality, she expressed a calm acceptance of life’s challenges, stating, “No matter what difficulties I face, I can move forward. After all, the worst that can happen is death, and I believe the afterlife is a beautiful place.” Tragically, her words have proven prophetic.

Despite her passing, Barbie Hsu’s legacy continues through her charitable activities, particularly her donations for ambulances in rural areas of Hualien and Changhua, which remain operational to this day.
