Sa putok ng baril at ilang tama ng bala natapos ang buhay ng stand-up comedian na si Gold Dagal noong Sabado, March 15, 2025.

Siya ay 38.

Ayon sa ulat ng GMA News, nasa loob ng isang beerhouse sa Angeles City, Pampanga, si Gold nang lapitan ito ng tatlong hindi pa nakikilalang salarin.

Nang makalapit ang mga suspek, agad daw bumunot ng baril ang isa sa mga ito at ilang beses pinaputukan ng bala si Gold hanggang sa ito ay bumulagta sa sahig.

Naisugod pa raw sa pinakamalapit na ospital ang komedyante ngunit binawian din ito ng buhay.

Si Gold ay kilala sa kanyang mapangahas na istilo ng komedya.

Kadalasang paksa sa kanyang comedy skits ay mga kontrobersiyal na isyu sa lipunan at relihiyon na hinahaluan niya ng dirty jokes.

Noong Linggo, March 16, nag-post sa Facebook ang ina ni Gold na si Jocelyn Cruz.

Inihayag nito ang saloobin sa aniya’y hindi makatarungang pagpaslang sa anak.

Ayon kay Jocelyn, ang mga nasa likod ng pagpatay sa anak ay dati nang nagbanta sa buhay ng stand-up comedian.

Na-offend daw ang mga ito sa “dark humor” ni Gold sa isang pribadong pagtatanghal.

Mababasa sa post ni Jocelyn (published as is): “Someone shot my only son in the face which caused his death 9 hrs later.

“Doctors tried to revive him each time he would have cardiac arrest, which happened more than 10x.

“My son is gone. A hired killer ended his life and made sure he does not survive.

“Why this happened? I know those he offended with his jokes during one of his stints in his stand-up comedy shows, had planned to end his life like how they constantly threatened.

“They are a bunch of cowards who cannot defend themselves and their faith which was put in question thru his dark humor.

“His jokes involved making light of subjects that are generally considered serious, taboo, or distressing, which served various psychological and social functions.

“He got the ire of these ‘unthinkers’ with one of his private performances. It was supposed to be for matured and smart audiences who paid to be entertained.

“He conceptualized Roast Battle which he said will eventually teach Pinoys who are ‘pikon’ to thicken their hide. He said he wanted an avenue that would allow people to explore uncomfortable topics in a safe environment.”

Naniniwala si Jocelyn na ang ilang taong nagsasabing malapit sila sa Diyos ang siya umanong nagplano at nagsagawa ng krimen.

“I have always reminded him that engaging in such dark humor can alienate or offend others. But some people who claim to be closest to God planned and perpertrated this crime,” deklarasyon niya.

Ayon pa sa ina ni Gold, bagamat mapangahas ang mga biro ng stand-up comedian, kilala ito bilang mabuti at mabait na anak at kapatid.

“They killed my son, whom I raised to be good and smart and who is always handsome.

“Such a short life but made meaningful because it was lived selflessly. He was consistent with his care and love for me and his three sisters.

“He was always the respectful and considerate child. He was always honest and funny- my parents’ first grandchild, everyone’s kuya, my favorite human being.”

Habang isinusulat ang artikulong ito ay wala pang inilalabas na detalye ang Police Regional Office 3 at Angeles City Police na nag-iimbestiga sa pagkamatay ni Gold.
