‘Sometimes love is not enough’: Kim Chiu, Xian Lim confirm breakup

It’s the end of a love story for KimXi.

After the month-long rumors, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim confirmed that they have already called it quits after almost 12 years together.

The actress announced in a social media post on Saturday that it took while for her to share that she and Xian already put an end to their more than a decade romance.

“We owe our supporters the truth, but we also respect each other’s time of healing. In a relationship, love is always a significant factor, but sometimes love is not enough,” said Kim.

“We shared more than a decade of love, each other’s support system, and many beautiful memories. It was our mutual decision to transition our relationship into what we hope to be a lifelong friendship,” she added.

The It’s Showtime host went on to thank their fans and supporters, asking for kindness, privacy, and respect as they move forward with their lives.

“We thank all our followers for their love and support, but now we ask you to appreciate our honesty and give us the privacy we need as we begin new chapters of our lives. To all our supporters, maraming salamat for all the love and understanding.

Kim also penned a short message to Xian, thanking him for the “beautiful memories” in the past decade they shared.

“Lastly, to Xi, Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is.

Xian, meanwhile, dedicated a message to Kim, looking back at the “long years we have spent loving each other”.

“The 12 years of my life with you was the best gift I could ever ask for. We have expressed our love for each other to the fullest and knowing that I got to share those moment with you, knowing our hearts beat as one at one point in our lives is truly something I will cherish for life,” wrote Xian.

He furthered, “Like all good things, it must eventually come to an end. I am grateful for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for all the unconditional love throughout the years. My respect and admiration for you as a person, as an artist, and as [someone] I spent more than a decade with will always remain.”

“I wish that you will find all the happiness and love you are searching for. You deserve nothing but the best,” Xian added as caption alongside throwback photos of them together.

“No goodbyes here, i’ll see you around petunia,” Xian endearingly addressed Kim as he ended his emotional post.
