Andres Muhlach was part of the group of showbiz personalities honored by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) last Sunday, March 23, in their 38th Star Awards for Television at the Dolphy Theater. The actor accepted the award for “Best New Male TV Personality” for his work in the TV5 sitcom Da Pers Family.

At the beginning of his acceptance speech, the actor looked back on how he accepted an award on behalf of his father, Aga Muhlach, two years ago. That was for the 6th Entertainment Editor’s Choice Awards last 2023 where the veteran actor was bestowed the Movie Icon Award.

“Two years ago, I received an award on behalf of my father. At aaminin ko at that time, sobrang kinakabahan ako. Two years later, nandito ako receiving my first award, at siyempre kinakabahan pa rin ako,” Andres said.

He, then, expressed gratitude to the PMPC for honoring him as “Best New Male TV Personality,” while also expressing gratitude to Viva, TV5, and his family, namely his father Aga, mother Charlene Gonzalez, and his twin sister Atasha Muhlach, for always believing in his talents.

“Let this be a reminder [to] inspirationally continue to do good work,” Andres also said. “God bless you all and I love you all.”

In the category of “Best New Male TV Personality,” Andres bested fellow nominees Drei Arias, Dylan Menor, Jarren Garcia, Jay Ortega, Jeremiah Cruz, JM Ibarra, Matthew Uy, Ralph De Leon, and Sean John Bialoglovski.

Andres currently stars in Da Pers Family where he stars alongside his family, as well as Heart Ryan, Roderick Paulate, Bayani Agbayani, and Ces Quesada.

Apart from Da Pers Family, Andres is also one of the lead stars of the Viva One hit series Ang Mutya ng Section E alongside Ashtine Olviga and Rabin Angeles. The show has become a worldwide hit since its premiere, becoming a trending topic not only in the Philippines, but in countries such as the United States, Canada, Indonesia, and India.

Andres, Ashtine, Rabin, and other cast members of Ang Mutya ng Section E are set to entertain fans in “Section E Nation,” the show’s ultimate fan meet and greet which will take place in the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City, from May 1-2.
