Min Bernardo, the mother of acclaimed actress Kathryn Bernardo, recently shared heartfelt insights into her daughter’s journey in the entertainment industry and her personal life.

In a candid interview on ABS-CBN News’ “On Cue’ conducted by MJ Felipe, the conversation delved into Kathryn’s rise to stardom and touched upon sensitive topics, including her love life.

At one point, MJ then asked Mommy Min, “Pagdating sa pag-ibig, hinahayaan mo lang siya?”

Mommy Min responded with honesty, stating, “Yes, hinahayaan ko lang siya pero andiyan pa rin ako sa side na, bulong-bulong. ‘Hindi tama yan, hindi okay yan’ yung mga ganun. Pero, at the end of the day, mahirap kasi sa isang nanay na may sinasabi ka pero hindi ka pinakikinggan.”

Eventually, Mommy Min also expressed her acceptance of Kathryn’s autonomy as well as her current age, acknowledging the challenges of parenting an adult child as doting mother.

“Ngayon, ina-accept ko na lang, ‘Sige na nga. Matanda ka na. Ikaw na mag-decision by your own pero sana isipin mo ng 100x kung sino man yan, ano man yan, 100x mo isipin kasi mahirap magkamali.’ Especially sa stature niya ngayon, marami na nag-iintay na magkamali siya.”

In 2023, Kathryn and her longtime partner, Daniel Padilla, made headlines when they both confirmed their separation after a decade of being together, saddening their supporters online.

On Instagram, Kathryn honestly said, “Our love story began with respect and ended with respect.”
