We All Have an Inner Star: Kathryn Bernardo’s Shower Concerts Revealed!

We all have that secret performer inside us that shines bright when we’re in the privacy of our showers or bedrooms, and Kathryn Bernardo is no exception. Whether she’s prepping for a shoot, hanging out with friends, or simply relaxing at home, Kathryn unleashes her inner rock star, channeling Tom Cruise in Risky Business as she air-dries her hair—“I don’t comb it. I just fluff it until it dries”—while adding a touch of makeup.

Curious about what gets Kathryn in the groove while she gets ready? We caught up with her at the Sunsilk Hairkada event, where she shared her top five favorite Spotify tracks that you can jam along with too!

#1 “22” by Taylor Swift

Ah, a TSwift classic. Kathryn may not be 22 yet, but she’s definitely feeling this song. (And apparently, she can also shake it off.)

This ditty anthem creates a summery vibe in any room and can make anyone dance. Even non-Swifties can get hooked on the chorus alone. Plus, this is the song you need if you need a breather from all the breakup songs she’s released, and will probably release if another man breaks her heart. (Yes, we’re looking at you, Calvin Harris)

#2 “Rescue” by Yuna

A pretty uplifting and upbeat song for all the girls out there. If you’re having a pretty bad or stressful day, just listen to this to cancel out all the negative juju like social media haters.

Pansin ko na ang daming taong tutok sa social media ngayon (I noticed that a lot of people are hooked on social media now). Minsan nakakatulong, minsan ‘nega’ vibes (Sometimes [their comments] help, some just give me ‘nega’ vibes),” Kathryn shares.

And she probably needs the energy boost too with this song, considering that she has a popular primetime teleserye, an upcoming movie, and other things on her plate right now.

#3 “Roses” by The Chainsmokers

Kathryn is not a fan of going to clubs, saying, “I mostly prefer something intimate: Just going out with friends to eat somewhere or just stay at home and watch movies. Basta may pagkain, buhay na kami (As long as there’s food, we’re good).”

But this song by The Chainsmokers will create an instant club scene in any room. Just create makeshift strobe lights and you can dance the night away with your friends, minus the crowd and the cigarette smoke.

#4 Justin Bieber’s Purpose album

Everybody knows that this album is probably Justin’s best one so far, and it’s so good that Kathryn can’t pick one absolute favorite song from Purpose that she likes jamming out to. We don’t blame her though. Who wouldn’t want to dance to “Sorry” or just chill out to “Love Yourself?”

#5 “Don’t Know Why” by Norah Jones

For when she probably just wants to chill out from all the stress in her life, Kathryn loves to listen to this slow, jazzy tune to calm her nerves and refresh, so she can get ready to work again. This song may have been released more than 10 years ago, but it never gets old.

This is also perfect for when you’re having trouble sleeping, and might need a sweet lullaby. Norah has a voice of an angel after all.
