Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado both agreed that love is sweeter the second time around

Kapuso drama king Dennis Trillo and Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado shared their thoughts on cheating and second chances.

Dennis and Jennylyn are now happily married and blessed with an adorable daughter, aside from their sons from their respective past relationships. The couple would sometimes share their bonding moments as a family on social media.

Their love story is an open book to the public. They first became a couple when they were younger, but they broke up and had relationships with others.

However, love found them again and they had a second chance. In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado were asked about cheating and second chances in a relationship.

Dennis said that he believes love is sweeter the second time around, but when it comes to cheating, this is already a different story.

“Based on experience, yung love is sweeter the second time around — okay yun, nag-work yun sa amin! It worked for us! Second chances are important, especially if the love is still there. But cheating? That’s a no-no,” the Kapuso drama king said.

Jennylyn agreed with what her husband said. “We can relate to ‘love is sweeter the second time around,’ but that doesn’t work for everyone,” she said. The actress also said that she can’t accept cheating. She has the feeling that if she forgives someone who cheated, the same act will be committed again.

When asked for their advice for singles who are planning to settle down, Dennis said that there is no need to rush. He stressed that it is important to enjoy a single life to the point that when you enter into a relationship, you will not miss being single because you have already experienced that before.

For Jennylyn Mercado, it is important to know each other before entering into a relationship. “Don’t rush. You’ll know when you’re truly ready to settle down,” the wife of Dennis Trillo said.
